Andy and Kimerbly's October 20th Wedding

We usually don't blog until we've completed an entire wedding, but I had to jump ahead to Andy and Kimberly's wedding from last weekend. The couple got ready at The Curtis Hotel in downtown Denver, the ceremony and reception were at The Tivoli Center, and the after hours party moved back to The Curtis. We were there to document it all and what a fabulous day we had. Andy, Kim and all their friends and family were a blast... (and pretty much everyone could dance their butts off).

The first time Andy and Kim saw each other, it was magical.... this was across the street at the Denver's Performing Arts Center!

This was the first of many dips throughout the day and evening. Kimberly and Andy are amazing dancers and actually met when they were both out dancing with friends, so dipping was very natural for them!

Boys will be boys!!!
Kimberly is an Interior Designer with fabulous decorating ideas and her taste of colors was superb. The details at her reception, right down to the programs, we're stunning!

Andy's uncle carved at least a hundred of similar wood structures like above... candle holders... flower holders... they were awesome!

They did a bunch of different kinds of cheesecake, instead of wedding cake..... yummy!

After the couple did there first dance, they pretended to be doing a garter removal, when actually Andy was ripping the bottom part of Kimberly's dress off...everyone freaked out .
The dress was made with this in mind and only the couple knew about it, it was great!

These guys could dance....

and dance.....
and dance....
They had moves that I'd never seen before, and they look so great dancing together.

It really made Tryg and I want to take some dance classes, but I'm convinced I'm totally not coordinated enough to pull moves off like these guys.

I love it when people give me the funny shots on the dance floor, even though this will not be one of this gals finer photographs, I'm sure Andy and Kimberly will get a kick out of it.... I know I did!
This gal just had her a baby boy (see above) 2 weeks ago, but that didn't stop her from cutting a rug!
It was around 70 degrees in Denver that afternoon and by midnight it was snowing, so we had to take advantage of the wet, snowy streets of Denver in the night light!!!
We feel very privileged to have gotten to photograph this very much in love couple on their very special day. Tryg and I both feel like we walked away from this wedding with two new friends. Congratulations Kimberly and Andy, we can't wait for you to see the rest of the pictures.

Our little family

When we went back to Iowa this summer for a visit home, my old boss and dear friend Mindy Myers (see blog link to right) took our family photos. Of course in Iowa in the middle of August it's probably the hottest, most humid time of the year, but the photos turned out .... well see for yourself... there awesome (not to mention the gorgeous subjects!). You can't tell at all that we've soaked through our clothes with perspiration, so gross, I don't know how I lived liked that for 25 summers!

Ella was acting a little 2 at first....

But, it didn't take long for this star to start shining!

My little chub of love!

At the end Mindy says, "God threw down a rainbow to remind me that Iowa really wasn't such a bad place to grow up". She's right, sometime I miss that place more than I ever would have thought, mostly being away from my family and friends. Colorado's home now and I'm very blessed to live in such an amazing part of this country. Besides I would have never met my
fabulous husband, made these beautiful children, and been able to show you these phenomenal photographs!
I cherish these photos more than Mindy will ever know, she's just an amazing photographer who has always been and always will be an inspiration to me. Being photographers ourselves it's obviously pretty hard to get family photos, and I probably don't pick up the camera enough to take pictures of my own children. It's also just really cool to get another photographers perspective and vision of your family.
Thanks so much Mindy, can't wait to hang out again in November!

The Combs Wedding (yes, like p.diddy)

Celine and Steven were married at the USAFA Chapel on Aug. 25th, and what an amazing day it was!!!
I love shooting at the Air Force chapel, we always seem to luck out with the most beautiful weather there (even in April when there was a big frost that covered everything, it was awesome!).

Love it!

It's always a bit windy up there, but it sure can make for great veil blowing shots!!!

These guys are so in love!

This is their little guy Nicholas, he's a around 10 months and never stops smiling. He's ridiculously cute!!!
Celine and Steven are both in the military and just recently left for another tour to Uruguay, but they get to take the whole family (meaning their little son). We can't wait to hear from them when they return, we wish you guys all the luck in the world and a safe tour. See ya in a year!!

Hayden

Meet Hayden, he's around 3 weeks here. I love taking pictures of newborns, my kids have grown so fast (Ella's -2 and Trystan-8months), it's nice to have a new baby fix.
We got some great shots of this little man, but for some reason he was always awake when we wanted him sleeping and sleeping when we wanted him awake, go figure!

I love this shot below, behind the scenes of a newborn session. These poor little guys, we put them through so much so soon after coming into this world. They always seem to get revenge by poohing or peeing, or both, on one of us. This time it was Dad (picture not included) and of course Mom and I just laughed, sorry Dad you we're the one holding him!!!
Congratulation to the Raph family and their new addition!
