A Month in a Half in the Life of Trystan Photography Part 1

I realized today that my lack of blogging really makes it look like we're not a very busy studio. Fortunately, it's just the opposite. We've been so busy over the last month-in-a half it's been great. We've worked with so many wonderful clients. What a great job we have!
My first priority is to take pictures and then get them to clients in a timely manner. So unfortunately, the first thing that gets put on hold is the blog. With that said the next two portions of our blog are very long. I tried to re-cap in just a few pictures from most of the photo sessions/weddings we've had from Dec 1st through today. I'd love to write longer blogs and I never can cut it down to just a few pictures, so this was really hard for me. I'm really going to make a better effort to blog all of my sessions right away. Enjoy!

Jill and David's December 1st wedding in Breckenridge was so amazing. I love winter wonderland weddings, especially up in the mountains.
Tryg is this close to finishing their wedding, check for more photos over the next couple of days. Jill and David we're such a joy to work with, I can't wait for them to see the rest of their special day.

Brittani and Brian were married on Dec 4th at the LDS temple in Denver. Since we're not allowed inside the temple for the ceremony, we waited outside for the couple to come out. We shot for a couple hours all around the temple grounds and took lots of fabulous pictures. Their wedding should be finished very very soon, so watch for more pictures.

Meet baby Asher, he's three months and I think he weighs as much as my one year old. I love it!
He was such a pleasure to photograph and I look forward to taking his 6,9 and 12month portraits this year.

It was yet another really cold day in Colorado for The Oloson's Family Portraits, but we all toughed it out. It was so cold that day, I think you can feel it through the pictures. Only the daughter Sarah lives here in Colorado, and the rest were just visiting. I thought it was appropriate to get Pikes Peak in the background for at least one shot. It was a privilege to shoot your way-to- good-looking family!

Erica and Renzo's Engagement session. These guys have been dating since high school. It's so great to meet real high school sweethearts, they're always so comfortable around each other and have true love written all over them. We shot their wedding on Dec 29th, see picture below. Good luck you two!

Allysia is a Realtor here in Colorado Springs who came to me for some head shots. She has the most amazing red hair I've ever seen. I'm always so jealous of people that have never colored or processed their hair. I've been highlighting mine for like 15 years and now I can't stop. If I tried to let my natural color come back it would be horrible. I could never put myself or my loved ones through that.

John and Amy Daniels we're married on the morning of Dec 13th, and came to me later during the day to take a few shots of them in their wedding clothes. We originally had planned on a big photo shoot at Fox Run Park, but due to the weather we settled for studio shots. They turned out fantastic. Good luck with everything you do, the two of you make a beautiful couple.

Next, meet the Yoder Family, with their newest addition Ms. Olivia.
I took Angela's maternity pictures when she was 8 months pregnant with Olivia, what a stunning little family they are. Hopefully I will get to see more of this family throughout the years, but last I heard they may have to relocated back to their home town. Keep in touch guys!

Leann and Greg's Engagement session.
We shot this on another really cold day here in Colorado. You can actually see breath in most of the pictures! These guys are having their wedding at The Pines in Genesee, in Golden, CO.
Tryg
and I are so lucky to be photographing some of the most fun (and not to mention good looking) couples this year, I can't wait to shoot their wedding!

And then there was Emily's late graduation from the USAFA. What an honor it was for me to photograph this very special day for her. We'll be building her a GraphiStudio album with the images I shot that day. I'll post it as soon as the album's complete.

Jessica and Keith's Engagement session, what a blast! What a happy-go-lucky couple. I say "happy", cause they're a very happy couple and I say "lucky" because they seem perfect for each other.
They're having a July 11th wedding this year at Hillside Gardens, I can't wait to photograph them on their wedding day!

This is 6 month old Riley, I took her 3 month pictures too. She's such a little doll. I can't wait to take more pictures of her over the next several months (and hopefully years)!

Originally the Ellis family had planned on taking their family photos outdoors, unfortunately due to plane delays and bad weather we had to opt for an indoor shoot. Thankfully the music room at The Cliff House Inn in Manitou fit well for this beautiful family.

Chris and Nicole's December 28th wedding in Woodland Park. This was probably one of the coldest days this winter, but we all braved the cold to make photos just like the one below. I'll get this wedding posted shortly, stay tuned!

Erica and Renzo's December 29th wedding, I have so many more wonderful pictures from this day to post, soon, I promise.

Suzanne and Pat's New Year's Eve Wedding in Salida. The ceremony was held outdoors at 8pm in 0 degree weather, but well worth it. It was freezing but stunning all at the same time! More pictures to come.

Stephanie and Josh's Red Rocks Wedding on January 5th, what an amazing day! Such a hilarious couple. Instead of making a toast to each other they read aloud letters they'd written for one another. I laughed so hard at one point, I almost peed my pants. I'll post more of this wedding as soon as I can.

And last, but certainly not least, Marcus Green. I took his Senior Pictures about a week ago. He reminded me of Matt Damon and what a nice young man he is. Good luck with the rest of your senior year Marcus!

A Month in a Half in the Life of Trystan Photography Part 2

Every year I take pictures of a handful (or two) of my wonderful friends and family. Here are some images from a few of the sessions I did at the end of 2007.

My amazing Mom and my wonderful Step-Dad Dennis, they needed an updated picture.

My darling nephew Jackson on his first Birthday. He's the one year old of many faces, but so hard to make crack a smile.

My gorgeous sister Cassie's senior pictures.
Out of the 6 kids in my family (5 girls and 1 boy), Cassie is the only one with brown eyes. The rest of us have blue. We've always told her she's the Fed Ex man's baby, she doesn't like that very much. But really I'm just jealous, look how beautiful her eyes are in the second shot!

My little sister Nikki. She's only 11 and just absolutely stunning and the spitting image of my Mom!

My best friend since 2nd grade, Heather, and her two kids Noah and Ariana.

My Cousin Lacey, her husband Brad, their little man Van, and Booner the dog.

Our good friends Megan and Kurt, and their two little angels Anna and Sylvia

Among all the other things I didn't get around to blogging I didn't even get to blog about our Rocky Mountain Christmas. We headed up to the high country to ski, bake cookies, eat lots of food, drink lots of wine and sleep (more than usual, because Nana was there to help with the kids) and just have a relaxing time.

Every year we go out in the Forest Service and chop down the biggest tree we can find (with the most branches)... not to exceed ceiling height of 25 feet. This year the tree was a little smaller at a whopping 18 feet, but still real perty.Trystan checking out Daddy's new rifle that Uncle Ty bought him. I'm kind of nervous around guns, so this was kind-of hard to photograph. Even though the gun (of course) was not loaded.

Ella got a little red bike from Santa, she loves it. Too bad Santa made a bike with NO BREAKS??? OOPS!!!

Whew, I'm so tired from all this blogging today! I promise myself I will not have to do a Month in the Life of Trystan Photography again, at least not for another month and a half!

My little Picabo Street

Tryg and I just couldn't wait any longer to get Ella on skis. Tryg started skiing around 3 years old which is the average age, but Ella is such a quick learner we knew she'd pick it up just like that.
Actually that's somewhat of lie, the truth is we thought we'd never even get the skis on her.
You see, Ella is defiantly a little girly-girl. She can be a little whiny and sometimes a little Monk-ish too. When we were putting on her ski boots and she started complaining about not wanting to wear two pairs of socks to keep her feet warm (because that's just not normal) and then how the ski books were too tight, we thought that was as far as we were gonna make it.
But in the end Ella put the boots on (but not the two pairs of socks) and went out on that little bunny hill and skied .... all day! It was so fun to watch her, especially because she had more balance and coordination then the first time I put a pair of skis on, when I was 25! She figured out how to shuffle around on the skis, get herself onto the magic carpet (all by herself for the most part) and then cruise down the hill without any assistance. We we're trying to work on turns (of course that was a little hard since she doesn't know what left and right are) and stopping, but didn't get that far. She was more interested in just flying down the hill as fast as she could, with one of us catching her at the end.
Of course Tryg and I had to sacrifice a little and only got to take a couple of runs, but it was so worth watching her ski for the first time. I can't wait until we're all skiing together. I suppose that means I have to step up my game, before Ella's a better skier than I am. Which will probably be like next year!!!

Look at her little teeny Atomics... so cute!

She fell backwards a couple of times, but thought it was hilarious!

Trystan's Belly Laugh

video

Tryg and I finally got a video camera for Christmas from his Dad and Step-Mom, I'm so excited! This is Trystan (11 months) cracking up to Mommy playing peek-a-boo behind the chair. I'm so sad that we didn't have a video camera sooner, we'd have so many more of these moments from Ella's first couple of years too.
