Iowa girl meets Minnesota boy - sounds familiar!

Lisa is my best friend from Iowa (Heather, don't worry your my longest best friend from Iowa), she actually followed me out to Colorado about 5 months after I moved here and thank heaven she did. If she hadn't she never would have met Jason (or I wouldn't have gotten to call him and his friends over to our table at a bar for them to meet) and he is such a wonderful guy and a Minnesota boy at that (Tryg, my husband is from Minnesota also... I think Lisa copies me). I couldn't be more thrilled for her and delighted to be a part of their wedding.
Their wedding is June 14th in Estes Park, CO and it's going to be fabulous. I'm sorry if your reading this blog and considering us for your wedding photographers for that date! I'm actually the Matron of Honor/Photographer at this big event and I can't wait.... I actually (for the most part) get to go to a wedding as a guest.... well not really 'cause I'm still taking the pictures (but I get to drink at the reception and as much as I want!).
Here's a bunch of shots I took for their engagement/save the date pictures. I love these guys so much I just couldn't decide which ones to post!

This door is the main entrance for 15C a wonderful Martini bar located in a dark alley in downtown Colorado Springs, there's one little red light above the door to help you find your way!
This is the bar I mentioned early where Lisa and Jason met!

Andy and Kimerbly's October 20th Wedding

We usually don't blog until we've completed an entire wedding, but I had to jump ahead to Andy and Kimberly's wedding from last weekend. The couple got ready at The Curtis Hotel in downtown Denver, the ceremony and reception were at The Tivoli Center, and the after hours party moved back to The Curtis. We were there to document it all and what a fabulous day we had. Andy, Kim and all their friends and family were a blast... (and pretty much everyone could dance their butts off).

The first time Andy and Kim saw each other, it was magical.... this was across the street at the Denver's Performing Arts Center!

This was the first of many dips throughout the day and evening. Kimberly and Andy are amazing dancers and actually met when they were both out dancing with friends, so dipping was very natural for them!

Boys will be boys!!!
Kimberly is an Interior Designer with fabulous decorating ideas and her taste of colors was superb. The details at her reception, right down to the programs, we're stunning!

Andy's uncle carved at least a hundred of similar wood structures like above... candle holders... flower holders... they were awesome!

They did a bunch of different kinds of cheesecake, instead of wedding cake..... yummy!

After the couple did there first dance, they pretended to be doing a garter removal, when actually Andy was ripping the bottom part of Kimberly's dress off...everyone freaked out .
The dress was made with this in mind and only the couple knew about it, it was great!

These guys could dance....

and dance.....
and dance....
They had moves that I'd never seen before, and they look so great dancing together.

It really made Tryg and I want to take some dance classes, but I'm convinced I'm totally not coordinated enough to pull moves off like these guys.

I love it when people give me the funny shots on the dance floor, even though this will not be one of this gals finer photographs, I'm sure Andy and Kimberly will get a kick out of it.... I know I did!
This gal just had her a baby boy (see above) 2 weeks ago, but that didn't stop her from cutting a rug!
It was around 70 degrees in Denver that afternoon and by midnight it was snowing, so we had to take advantage of the wet, snowy streets of Denver in the night light!!!
We feel very privileged to have gotten to photograph this very much in love couple on their very special day. Tryg and I both feel like we walked away from this wedding with two new friends. Congratulations Kimberly and Andy, we can't wait for you to see the rest of the pictures.
