November wedding? Not a problem. No worries.
You see, many people think Colorado is like Canada, or Alaska, heck… even the Midwest: bitter cold and covered in snow in the winter. But they would be mistaken, because while most of Colorado’s High Country is covered in snow, the rest of the state is not, and I think it would be a stretch to call it “bitter cold”. Many days, even up at the ski resorts, a visitor to Colorado might find 50-60 degree days and a whole ton of sunshine (over 300 days a year of sunny skies).
Emily and Eric’s wedding was no exception: while many parts of the country could have been called “cold”, this day at The Garden of the Gods Club was anything but. Warm temperatures, and crystal clear air made the views from the back lawn of The Garden of the Gods Club to… die… for! I love photographing weddings there. It is truly one of the prettiest places on Earth.
And how did I know it was going to be a really fun wedding? Within minutes of starting the groom’s party shots before the ceremony, Eric was suddenly pulling a move I now affectionately call “The Playgirl Pose”. Without any coaching from me, and to the great amusement of all his buddies, Eric lounged upon the lawn at the edge of the reflecting pool like a lion on a hot day. I was duly impressed. Not many grooms can ham it up quite like that in front of a camera. Bravo, sir! Not that this pose is “website material”, but it made me laugh and everybody else, too. And when you’ve got a groom willing to have fun with photos, your day as a photographer is made.
Thank you, Emily and Eric, for choosing us as your wedding photographers. Your wedding was perfect, and it was a blast to capture it for you.
