“The tuxes aren’t here.”
*screeeeeeeeeeeeeech!* (That’s the sound of a wedding screeching to a halt).
“The tuxedos aren’t here. We have no tuxes.”
In all of our years of shooting weddings, we’ve seen a groomsman forget his tux at the hotel, we’ve seen tuxes that were sized horribly wrong, but we have never, ever, ever seen the entire Groom’s Party not have any tuxedos.
Now this is where that rare trait called “resiliency” comes into play. Not all people have it, and those that do have it, for most it runs out quickly and then they aren’t so resilient any more… but not Dustin! He just got on the phone, and while smiling, left a very stern (but friendly) message for the tux shop as a reminder that the tuxedos were to have been dropped off at 7am. It was now 8:30am, and… no tuxes.
No panic. No anger. No freaking out. The boys just poured some champagne and kept laughing and having fun.
The tuxes showed up in a bit. And now our job went into high-gear. We do not have late weddings. Except for down-pouring rain, our clients are on-time, every time. So we had our work cut out for us. They key is to try and not make your clients stress-out because you’re trying to play catch-up, and I am fairly confident that we were able to pull that off!
Aside from the rocky start with the tuxedos, the day ended up being perfect. Great morning light, lovely colors, and lots and lots of love and joy.
Thank you, Emily and Dustin, for trusting us with the honor of capturing your perfect day!
