Copper Mountain:
Jennifer & Tyler

A perfect wedding at Solitude Station and The Grand Hall at Copper Mountain

Jennifer and Tyler’s entire vibe perfectly matches the Colorado High Country: fun, laid back, and beautiful.

Solitude Station: So worth it for wedding ceremonies, we promise…

Their wedding ceremony was held at the picturesque Solitude Station on Copper Mountain. Solitude Station offers one-of-a-kind views of the surrounding peaks, including the rugged Western slope of the iconic 10 Mile Range. This is because Copper sits in it’s own secluded elbow of the 1-70 corridor west of Breck. It literally has views that you won’t see anywhere else in Colorado. This makes Solitude Station an incredibly unique ceremony venue… if you don’t mid the open chair-lift ride up and down to get to it…

Yup, there’s about a 10 minute window where you and your guests (and your photographers) will be at the whim of the mountain weather for the trip up and the trip down from Solitude Station. This wedding in particular Char and I got caught in a particularly brief and cold burst of winter-y weather while going up on the chair. Yes, this was a summer wedding, but that’s the Colorado mountains for you! As long as you and your guests (and your vendors) understand that they need to plan ahead for bad weather on the chair (this is very unlikely, I am just relating a particular experience), everyone involved will surely appreciate the minor risk it requires to attend such a gorgeous wedding ceremony venue.

The Grand Hall: perfect for rustic weddings

While you have to be willing to sacrifice a little to have a ceremony at Solitude Station, there’s nothing risky about a reception at The Grand Hall at Copper Mountain. It’s the perfect mountain wedding venue, with huge windows facing out towards the mountain and soaring high tongue-and-groove ceilings with massive beams. It truly is a comfortable and majestic site for your larger wedding reception. The surrounding deck area only adds to the charm for cocktail hours and games for guests.
